NIGHT RUN Canceled the run? Yes, do to lack of participation. Too many members were out of town that week on vacation. Oh well, maybe next time.
GEOCACHING RUN Since they have Hwy. 330 under construction and are escorting vehicles, and 1N09 is closed we will be doing the caches along 3N16 instead. I was looking forward to doing the caches along 1N09 since it’s a lot closer and has more caches. There are 12 caches along 3N16 and most have something to do with the local history to make it more interesting. That should keep us busy. We will be meeting at the Discovery Center on Hwy. 39 at the usual 9:00 am. If you are planning on attending please let me know about a week before so I can send you the file with the waypoints. Since we will be parked for a period of time I would suggest having an Adventure Pass. They are still required and can be obtained at the Visitor’s Center for $5 for a day pass.
EL MIRAGE The latest issue of In Gear has an article about The Rough Wheelers opening up 4x4 trails in the El Mirage OHV area. Knowing the area, the trails can’t be too long but could be fun to play on. I guess I’ll have to check it out in a couple of months (when the weather cools off) when I’m there with the dirt bike.
MEETINGS AT THE PARK August was our last meeting in the park for the year, we will be once again meeting at Don-A-Vee in Placentia.
TRIP COMMITTEE MEETING On a date in October, yet to be determined, we will have a Trip Committee meeting, so please be thinking about trails that we haven’t done for a while and what runs you would like to lead.
Please check to make sure that you meet these minimum requirements. Click here.
