Well, here we are at the beginning of a new year. I hope you had a wonderful holiday. 2002 was a pretty good year for our side in the fight against the "greenies." The Bush administration is showing some reason and common sense on the environmental issues, but we still have a long way to go before we regain what we have lost.

In a recent Blue Ribbon Coalition mailing, they showed the extent of the finding that the greens have to play with. The Hewlett and Packard foundations each contributed about $13 MILLION. If you take in the Sierra Club and some of the nature groups, you are easily talking in excess of $50 MILLION dollars that they have to further their cause. On the other hand, Blue Ribbon Coalition ended up with just over $500,000 in donations. BIG DIFFERENCE! But even with such a limited budget, they have been very effective in representing the interests of freedom.

I velieve the environmental movement is no longer about saving the planer, but now a big business. The heads of the various environmental organizations draw very nice 6-figure incomes, and the only way they can continue to do so is to get more areas closed. Get the picture?

I know it's not a good time to bring this up, with Christmas and everyone feeling a little strapped, but please consider joining the Blue Ribbon Coalition and donating what you can. I personally feel that the BRC is the leader in our fight for out lands. CA4WDC and CORVA are also doing what they can and deserve our support.

So, what I'm trying to say is to make 2003 the year that you personally do something about fighting the greenies, whether it's writing your representatives in government, attending planning meetings or, at the very least, donating to one or all of the above groups.
